Imagine a world without visual thinkers! What would that be like?
What would it be like to have no artists, no plays, no dancers, no film, no TV, no photographers, no theatre, no visual memory.
What would it be like to have no designers, no architects, no builders, no interior designers, no garden designers?
What would it be like to have no entrepreneurs, no inventors, no innovation, no originality, no marketers.
What would it be like to have no plumbers, no electricians, no car mechanics, no gardeners, no chefs, no farmers.
What would it be like to have no sport, no games, no creativity and no innovation.
Have you noticed how many of our practical skills like using a sewing machine, knitting, etc have dropped.
It is worth thinking about what a world without visual thinkers would be like. The world would be very bland and dysfunctional. These lists are just a starter. You might have no visual memory or imagination. When you have thought of you own list, I invite you to consider how grateful you are for all the visual thinkers who have come before and how we can nurture the visual thinking skills of our children.
Now think of the visual thinkers you know and how many of them are neurodivergent. They are not abnormal, they are invaluable diverse thinkers, who have exceptional visual thinking skills, that are needed in every aspect of life. It is vital we change the narrative.
