My husband oppened the door yesterday to one of those guys, from Nottingham, who are out of work and selling basic kitchen products out of a holdall.
The young man’s first words were “Is your wife in, Is Olive around?”
I was out so Ivan continued the conversation with this lovely guy. Whilst buying some products, he explained that I had taught him to look up at mental images when spelling and to look up when reading. He explained that we would not be seeing him again as he had been accepted on to a course and after that he hoped to do an apprentership.
So a year ago maybe I had given this lad choice and he was now going to better himself with new skills, taught on the doorstep in 5 minutes.
