Just been reading about the Intense Theory and it really resonated with me and many of my clients. Take a look at this article
Having witnessed on many occasions the intensity that people feel energy from others and the simple tools (from Energetic NLP) they can learn to reduce this “intrusion” into their space, there is to me an important story to be investigated here.
I recall an 8 year old Aspie boy who was a lovely lad but often in trouble for his behaviour to a girl in his class, along with his friends. So I asked what the problem was and was told how this girl just drove him mad and she would have to leave the school. I became curious, when does this happen? In class or in the playground? “Only in the playground” was the reply. “in class she sits the other side of the room so that is fine”. He then explained that in the playground she jumped up and down in front of him and he couldn’t stand it. He desperately wanted her to leave the school. So now we have a young boy in a major bout of sensory overload and he can’t get away from it.
This boy is very bright but he was stuck with only one outcome. He explained that he and his friends would try and solve the problem but they always ended up in trouble.
I knew he was a fan of Harry Potter, so asked him what Harry would do. The immediate response was, “there is the invisibility cloak, she could wear that”. He thought for a moment and decided that would work. I saw him a month later and asked him how it was going “no problem I can’t see her any more in the playground, she is wearing the invisibility cloak!”
Going back to the Intense theory, I believe that many children are so overloaded with sensory information, that their bodies, out of conscious awareness, block their energy channels that are receiving this overload and then appear to not be empathetic.
