Nobody laughs at babies because they can’t speak

This is a brilliant quote for Shift by Chip and Dan Heath, followed up with “the brain is like a muscle that can be developed with exercise – with work you get smarter”

My belief on change is that anything is possible, once you know how to do it. This is a growth mindset, realising that everything is hard before it becomes easy, whether it is running a marathon, riding a bicycle or playing a musical instrument, everything has to be learnt with the correct strategy for you. It takes time and a little patience before your learning accelerates and you become really competent.

This is exactly how we coach people at Empowering Learning to improve their skills, with incremental steps, that people can’t fail at, each building on a skill they already have.
